Potty Seat

Ellie is doing a wonderful job going down for naps and bedtime. She hardly utters a peep and settles on her mattress the moment we leave the room (she watches us go in standing position.) It is the morning that is the next thing to work on. Mommy and Daddy are alerted out of dreamland with the high-pitched cry of the Eastern Screech Owl. If you have never heard this ghastly cacophony, it sounds like an old horror film actress happening upon something dead in the night. Ellie does this at 5:30AM. She then, promptly falls back to sleep, only to have a reoccurrence at 6AM. I have decided that she and I will start walking in the morning (after the 6am alert), so today was walking day 2. Unfortunately, if I do not get to sleep earlier, I will not be able to continue as such…

Books and Babies at the library went great today. Ellie crawled away from me several times to the end of the little area rug we sit on, and then she returns… except the last time when she had to examine Ms. Diane’s painted toenails before she returned.

Then, we went to Lowes to pick up garden plants and a new shower head. She insisted on getting down on the floor, so while I decided which shower head to purchase, Ellie pushed the cart away. She helped me push it to the register.

At Walmart, we picked up a baby toilet seat. After dinner, Ellie was all set up to get a bath and we tried the new seat. She wasn’t so sure about it. She did enjoy standing on tippy-toe, holding onto the edge and peering into the seat. I resigned to the single try and set her up, holding to the side of the tub as I tested the water. She immediately peed on the floor. Tomorrow, we try again!
