102.9

Ellie woke up this morning with a fever of 102.9. She showed no other signs of being sick; nursed fine, ate a big breakfast, played fine, etc. We put a call into the pediatrician’s office, but after ½ hour of no call back, we decided to go to swim class. Figuring that the cool water would at least take her temperature down a little. On the way, the nurse did call and said we were doing the right thing, Ellie is just teething.

The pool was great, Ellie was happy provided I held her tight, so we just bounced along with the other baby swimmers and didn’t actually do anything. Her temp was down to 100.1 when we returned home, so I was happy.

The temp went back up after her nap and acetaminophen wouldn’t touch it. A frozen gogurt at the neighbors helped and then using the neighbor’s tip, we used Ibuprofen and that worked well. We rested most of the rest of the day. Hot, little Ellie slept on me for both of her naps, so getting ready for her upcoming party didn’t happen. Party guests start arriving tomorrow, so we still have time to do a crash cleaning and shop for supplies. Fever threw off our schedule, totally.
