Friday, we drove up to New York to visit with Uncle Steve and Aunt Sue. We got a late start and did not get on the road until noon. El lasted about 4 hours and then she had enough of the car seat, enough of Mommy singing the Alphabet Song (usually the only thing that calms her in the car), enough of Daddy feeding her Cheerios and ENOUGH of the car! Unfortunately, we had a full 2 hours to go and we were at a point that there really was no stopping. We found a rest stop, which was just that a stop with no bathroom facilities and snow covering the ground, so although we stopped - we could only get her out of her seat and into my lap, where she giggled and cooed, until placed back into the car seat, where she SCREECHED. There is a reason cars have shatter-proof glass and it has nothing to do with collisions, that is just a bonus they must have discovered!
Anyway, we did finally make it to Steve and Sue's and sat down for a dinner of delicious, home-made pizzas. El is too tired to sit in her chair, so Mommy holds her as we eat. To keep her happy, Mommy gives El the cloth napkin. El immediately lifts it over her head and
