After swimming, we raced into DC for an appointment. Got there in time and then grabbed a burger at Micky Dees before heading over to my part time job to get a little more training in. Jeff sat in the car, but Ellie joined me. Needless to say, we didn't stay long. Then, of course, the 1.5 hour long drive home. Ellie did OK, but she had had enough of the car for one day. She napped at home.... then I forced her back in the car for $.25. it only occurs to me now, that I was an idiot for trying to save 25 cents, but a book was due at the library. As soon as Ellie saw I was walking her to the car, she balked. I had been threatening to do it... so I set Ellie on the ground and I adjusted the car seat. As I worked, Ellie crawled over to a beautiful, red tulip and destroyed it, petal by smooth petal. But... darned if that girl did not SING all the way to the library! Unless I get in trouble, I will leave the seat in its adjusted position. I bought a little mirror, so I can see her and she can see me and there is a cup holder that fits on the side of her seat, I put her sippy cup in it. We drive around with her smiling at me, grabbing her cup, sipping and then putting it back in the holder only to pull it out again. What a happy girl!

Swim Day 8 : Take 2
Today was the last day of swimming. Daddy was feeling up to it, so he joined us and took pictures! Ellie did great!... until the instructor came over to tell us how great she was doing. She pretty much cried the entire time after that. In the meantime, she floats on her back with her ears (like they should b) underwater. She is very relaxed. That was the comment Mike made. Most children Ellie's age can not relax on their backs and definitely will not put their ears underwater. We are very proud of our little fish! Of course, there is another certificate to add to her growing collection!
