Daddy had a bad night. He did not sleep well, had a rotten dream and was up late - unable to get to sleep. So, when, while cleaning the kitchen up, I saw the flyer for the Children's Fair, Ellie and I kissed Daddy good-bye and headed out to give him some peace and quiet. We arrived 30 minutes early, but it was in the elementary school, so there was a whole lot of stuff to look at in the halls. Once they opened the doors, we had a blast! Ellie received a bunch of free junk and a nifty, purple bag that she kept rubbing. Ellie played with homemade play dough, won a drawing and chose a vibrating mouse toy as the prize, got her first dental screening (dentist stuck his gloved finger into her mouth and said, "Looks good."), and we picked up a bunch of nice, free clothes in the Community Clothing Give-Away. We were turned down to make our own First-Aid Kit - they said Ellie was too little, but we checked out all the other fun stuff - OK, she was too little for most of it. After an hour, we were kaput. Ellie fell asleep on the way home and took a nice 2 hour nap without waking up! Sign us up for next year!

In the afternoon, Ellie and Mommy (Daddy is under the weather.) went to the library to give Daddy more rest. We spent an hour pulling books off shelves and frantically putting them back before more came out (Ellie did the former, me the latter), playing with magnet letters and crawling into awkward, unrescue-able spots, like under the kid-size table. Before leaving, we chose 4 more movies for Daddy to watch. To avoid having all the movies pulled off the shelf, too; I entertained Ellie on my shoulders by squatting and bouncing up. She loved it and if I didn't squat back down immediately, I could feel her squat down on my shoulders. I have never picked out movies so fast... In any case, as I was turning to go check-out, a girl stopped me and said, "I just have to tell you, your daughter is a doll-baby!" This is only funny because yesterday, as I was standing in line for big fish sandwiches at Burger King, a teenage boy stopped me and said, "I am sorry, but I just have to tell you that your daughter is the most adorable thing I have ever seen!" Daddy had overheard and was beaming from ear-to-ear when I brought the food to the table. So, of course I had to call him and tell him about our library encounter! More fodder for his viewpoint that Ellie is the most adorable baby in the World
